A New Paradigm in Guerrilla Filmmaking

In my opinion, what was considered “guerrilla filmmaking” about five years ago has now evolved into a more sophisticated form of filmmaking. The run-n-gun handheld style of filmmaking associated with true guerrilla is now affected by a lot more planning and preparation. And often, lots more video gear.

But the industry is on the verge of change — in a big way. Suppose all you needed was one small camera and one light? Suppose you decided to do the minimal vocals in an ADR session later so sound was never an issue?

Suppose you camera equipment and lighting equipment could virtually fit into a simple carry-on pullman type bag no bigger than a gunnysack?

Behold. A new error of guerrilla filmmaking where NO location is off limits. NONE. Behold a new era in guerrilla filmmaking where low light no longer means grainy unusual or at best, “artsy visuals”– instead viewers are in awe of the crystal clear images taken in low-light visuals mimicking what only the human eye can see.

Astounding isn’t it? Welcome to the new world.
