I woke up this morning with an idea for a dramady in the vein of Catch & Release. I think it qualifies as “high concept” because the title came to me first and then the single sentence logline. Because it’s “high concept” I can’t even tell you the title yet because it reveals so much of the story and theme. I was inspired by a late night viewing of Speed. Now there’s a brilliant logline and illustration of “high concept.” 

Problem is, all I can do at this point is jot down the logline and title and move on because I’m deep into another writing project, The Rebirth Chronicles (tentative title). It’s a surrealist romantic comedy — think Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It’s coming along okay, in terms of the process. I actually think the script is wonderful. But the process is full of roadblocks and stalemates. However, I vowed that if I ever started a script I would finish it, regardless of how painful the writing process is.  So, while I want to table The Rebirth Chronicles, right now I cannot.

Oh, and soon I will let you in on my brilliant high concept logline for TRC.
